One Chip Rule

One-chip rule. It is used in live games and means that a player who puts one chip into the pot (regardless of its value) is calling the bet. For example, if the player sitting before you raised the bets to 1000, and you put a 5000 chip into the pot but said nothing, it is considered only a call.
