The “Loto-Quรฉbec” casino, where a $1/3 no-limit hold'em game was played, paid out one of the largest “Bad Beat Jackpot” winnings in history. It is also the second-largest “Bad Beat Jackpot” prize in poker history.
Interestingly, both of the largest occurred in Canada. The bad beat jackpot was won when a straight flush on the river beat quad 10s; a payout of 2.6 million Canadian dollars (or 1.87 million USD).

At the Casino du Lac-Leamy's “OK Poker Lounge” in Gatineau, a player losing with four tens or better receives the bad beat prize. To claim this prize, each player must use both of their hole cards.
The board read 9โ Kโฃ10โฃ Jโฃ10โ . One player turned over 10โฅ10โฆ to make four of a kind, while his opponent revealed Qโฃ9โฃ to make a straight flush, thus winning the bad beat jackpot.
Jackpot Winning Hand
According to the Lac-Leamy bad beat jackpot rules, the player who loses the hand receives 40% of the pot, the winner gets 20%, the players at the table receive 20%, and the remaining 20% is distributed among all players playing at that time.
This time, 46 players were playing at five tables. The player with four tens took home $726,000 (1,005,421 Canadian dollars), the player with the straight flush received $363,000 (502,711 Canadian dollars), and the other six players at the table took home about $84,000 (60,000 Canadian dollars) each. Another 38 players received prizes of $13,000 (or 9,400 USD).
